He never saw it coming...

This little girl

Photobucket

is CRAWLING!

This little guy

never saw it coming.

He wasn't a big fan of her crawling over him, so he took the ipad and moved far away from her.
But she knew what was going on, and after a small distraction she got back on course.

Success!!!!

She's still a little wobbly when she's on all fours, but she is sure trying. She knows what she wants and doesn't stop until she gets it. Boston is not sure what to think about Maddie's new found mobility.

Motherhood....

Motherhood is probably one of the most difficult things I've ever done. And most rewarding, but many days it sure doesn't feel like that. My house is constantly a mess, there are some weeks were I don't have more than 30 seconds to shower and end up not washing my hair for 5 days (or more), and my son watches way too much TV. But I'm a good mom. And I found this post by a blogger who took the words right out of my mouth...but said it much better. :)

The real meaning of of MPH

I know I posted this to facebook, but I wanted to share it with you guys. :)

If I were his wife, I would be less than thrilled that this has had almost 450,000 hits on youtube. :)

My nephew!

My baby brother now has a baby of his own. It's so crazy to me. I'm so excited to be an aunt, and that my kids now officially have a first cousin. They named him Bastion, which I'll admit, at first, I wasn't crazy about. Now I love it! It just kind of fits him. He is a mover! He barely made a peep, but was constantly wiggling, which makes sense considering who his dad is. :) It's so fun to watch David and Amber be parents to this little guy. Here are a couple just to give them a taste of what's to come.

Yummy cajun lemon marinade.

I used this tonight for grilled Chicken with that pasta I posted last week. So Yummy!!!

Lemon Juice of 1/2 lemon
3TBS Olive Oil
1 TBS cajun Spice
1 TBS Basil
1 TBS dried chopped onion
2 Tsp fresh cracked black pepper.

Let chicken sit for about an hour before grilling. :)

My Kitchen

Believe it or not my kitchen was spotless less than 24 hours ago. It never seems to stay that way for long these days. OH well.

This little guy is one of the reasons it's so easy to let my house get like this. This is how I found him after a busy day of being Boston.

Then there's this one. She wants so badly to be crawling/walking, but isn't quite there yet, so the majority of the time she wants to be held so she can climb all over you. This is her contemplating the joy of crawling apparently.

Primary ideas

So I found this awesome blog with all sorts of activities and ideas for primary lessons. Today I'm using a reader's theater for teaching the story of Abinadi, King Noah, and Alma. You should check it out!

New Recipe

So I don't forget how to make this I'm posting it. :)

I whipped this up tonight and it was really good. It would be a great meatless meal. I could have eaten the pasta by itself all night. The chicken was just a nice little addition of protein so I didn't pig out on the pasta. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out and even happier that it came out to 6 points per serving. That makes me happy. :)

Yummy Penne with Tomato Pesto and spinach cream sauce and chicken: (i should probably work on the name) 6 WWP+ per serving, serves 8.

5 oz uncooked penne
2-3 cups spinach
1 can of fire roasted tomatoes w/garlic drained
1/2 onion sliced
1 red pepper diced
4 oz fat free cream cheese
3/4 c chicken broth
1 cup parmesan cheese, split in half
1 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp red pepper flakes
2 1/2 TBS sun dried tomato Pesto
2 chicken breasts sliced and diced.
1 cup italian bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 450.

Take two chicken breasts and cut them in to bite size pieces. Coat them in the bread crumbs and spread out over greased cookie sheet in one even layer. Bake at 425 for 10 minutes, flip the chicken and cook for another 10 minutes.

While the chicken is cooking, cut up your onion and red pepper. In a non stick skillet put a tiny drizzle of oil. add the pepper and the onion and cook 4-5 minutes until they're just softening. set aside. In a medium sauce pan add the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add the cream cheese and whisk until the lumps are gone. Add two and half TBS of the tomato pesto, 1/2 c parmesan, nutmeg and the crushed red pepper flakes (you don't have to add the pepper, but I like the heat that it brings).
Once the sauce is smooth add it to the skillet with the onion and the red pepper. stir those together. Before you drain the pasta add about 1/4 c ish of the pasta water to the cream sauce and stir it together. Then add the tomatoes and stir. If the sauce is too thick add a little more pasta water or chicken broth. not more than a couple TBS. Then add the penne and the spinach Stir everything together. Sprinkle the top with the remaining parmesan and pair it with the chicken and a salad.

:)

cook Penne as directed on the package.

Forever!!!
