Last week Chris came home with some exciting news! We are officially moving to England the first week of October! We will be going from October through most of December and will be home right before Christmas (which the grandparents are extremely grateful for!)
We will be headed to Milton Keynes, England with two other families from Chris's team. So all together there will be 6 adults 5 kids ranging from 5 to three months and a 6th will be born while we're over there. Brave woman!
Boston is super excited to finally go on an airplane, but his parents are super nervous about the long plane ride with two young kids who hate holding still for more than 10 minutes at a time.
We are leaving our house to my brother and sister-in-law and their sweet baby so we don't have to leave our house empty or pack anything up while we rent it...but who would want to rent for 2.5 months? We are just taking clothes and a few familiar kid items and leaving the rest behind to move into a small two or three bedroom flat.
Things I'm worried about: The plane ride, Adjusting to the schedule, transporting car seats and a pack n play, and ability to get things to cook yummy Mexican food.
Things I'm excited about: Being just our little family, Cooking my own Thanksgiving dinner, Being in a new place, finally being able to use my passport, seeing Chris's mission, the opportunity for Chris, coming home right before Christmas and doing all my Christmas shopping! :D
There are actually many things I'm excited about, but I could go on forever and Boston is over my shoulder begging to watch a clip of Mater as a fire truck on Disney.com. lol.
I'm so excited for this new adventure for our little family!

So exciting! If you have time, I recommend reading "The Expert Expat" as soon as you can. Even though you'll only be there for 2.5 months, it has some good tips for preparing to go and what to do when you get there. Good luck!

That sounds awesome. What is it that Chris will be doing out there? To bad you couldn't have been there for the Olympics. Really happy for you and what a great adventure.
So so excited for you guys. Sad for me though, we will miss you guys so much! Probably we should warn your family that a small boy will be at their door daily around 9 to ask Boston to play and will not be happy he's not around! This will be such a fun adventure. We traveled tons when I was little, my mom did small hourly presents that we could open. Love me some bribery!

I am so jealous! What an amazing adventure! But... I am going to miss you like crazy. Just don't fall in love with it and move there forever ok?
